How can you Grow your Audience on Facebook?

I wanted to talk to you about Facebook. Recently many people have mentioned to me how their Facebook Page has came to a stand still. They aren’t receiving any new likes and their content is not getting the reach it should. Why is this and how can we overcome this issue?

How to Grow your Facebook Audience…

A question that I have asked myself on many occasions. Facebook is great, it really is and when used in the right manner along with great content and management, a business can honestly thrive through a Facebook community.

Paying for Facebook Advertising!

They are a business themselves and as any business they look at many ways to make revenue. A way of gaining some is through other businesses and getting them to pay for advertising. Many will see this as a scary thought, admittedly I did at first, but your Page can thrive from a small budget, along with excellent content and ad management!

To entice users to pay for this service they have cut down on the allowance of people they show posts from business Pages. On average they show around 6-8% of the Page following, so if you have a Page with 200 Likes then you’ll have around 12 to 16 organic post reach on every post, which isn’t great.

Finding your Target Audience on Facebook…

Facebook has been extremely clever in doing this, some may call it sneaky. However, I feel we should look at it as a favour to which they have done for us! Using their targeted demographics allows you to hit the people who have the most relevance to your post or page, equalling in more of the right people finding your business. This may cost you a few pound, but it is well spent when hitting your direct target audience.

In answer to the question, there is no other way than paying. However, please don’t be put off by this. It can be cheap and very effective for any business and isn’t something to shy away from.

Should you pay for Facebook Ads?

A topic that has many split views – should you, or shouldn’t you? The greatest debate of all, paying to run ads on your Facebook Page.

Facebook Advertising for Business!

In the early days of Facebook it was very easy to get a good following with plenty of interaction, which happened daily and guess what, it was all FREE – yes that is right you wouldn’t have to pay a single penny on your page. Businesses thrived from this either gaining business or directing vast amounts of traffic to their website.

Your Facebook Post Reach…

However, as Facebook has developed and not forgetting it is business itself (all be it a billion dollar one) they have altered the way a business page works. When it began your posts on your Facebook Page would go to all your followers, now it will reach around 10 percent, give or take. For example: you have 200 page likes, each post will have a reach of around 20 to 30, which isn’t that great. So the killer question, how can you up your post reach?

There are many answers to this and ways that contribute to upping your Page reach. It will take all your time up sitting on Facebook commenting and liking other pages to receive it in return, however Facebook allows you to pay for advertising and they have made it very quick, easy and targeted which is great for your Page.

Should you Pay for Facebook Advert or Not?

Some people will say Facebook has forced you into paying for ads. I personally would still pay even if my generally reach way higher and the main reason for this is, it is targeted! You have amazing demographics which it turn allows you to reach your target audience, making your reach a lot more true for you and your business and to me that is whole point.

What is the point of someone in America liking your Facebook Page if you are cleaner from Shropshire? To be honest, none!

If you pay you get given the option to set to genders, age, location, interests, certain behaviours – the options are endless. £1.00 a day can up your Page reach to well over 1,000 – that is right £1.00.

The key is to set a budget for month, sit and play with the demographics and try and get the largest reach possible within your target audience. Set yourself goals as to what you want to achieve from it and allow yourself to have a realistic budget. It will work wonders…

Basically, Facebook Advertising in my eyes is just one of the keys that can open up the door to social media success, which you may just be looking for!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you do it or have you done it? What were your results? Let me know guys!
